EPC contractor Egnatia Romania finalized the 1.7 MW photovoltaic park owned by Casa de Investitii ALIANTA

Bucharest, September 3, 2012

The EPC contractor Egnatia Romania, supplier of turn-key services for photovoltaic projects, announces that has finalized the works and connected on the Grid, the photovoltaic project of 1.7 MW owned by Romanian private company ‘Casa de Investitii ALIANTA’. The project – which is situated in Lechinta village, Bistrita-Nasaud County – was connected to the national electricity grid on August 17, 2012.

Egnatia Romania, the EPC (engineering-procurement-construction) contractor for this project, used in order to finalize the project 6,762 fixed solar panels and 54 inverters. Construction works lasted 4 weeks. As announced by the Greek company, the photovoltaic panels were supplied by the market leader Solar World, the inverters were procured from Power-One company – worldwide renown provider of inverters, while the structure was delivered by  Alumil – one of largest European groups of aluminum extrusion and aluminum profiles producers, with vast experience and technology in realizing photovoltaic projects.

It is the first project on the Romanian market in which we are the EPC contractor, utilizing our several years experience in Greece and Bulgaria in the Solar projects domain. Our estimations show that the Romanian market will become generous for the turn-key suppliers for photovoltaic projects for the next 2 years. The work volume which Egnatia Romania has to handle for the next 6 months regards the construction of several photovoltaic parks totaling up to now  28 MW,

said Thomas Melitsis, general manager of Egnatia Romania.

Romania has committed that by 2020 to produce 38% of electricity from renewable energy sources as a contribution to limit emissions of carbon dioxide assumed by European Union countries.
